I know what you’re thinking…another blogger writing a review of their Stitch Fix? But yeah, I’m totally doing that.
I got an email from Stitch Fix to my work account with an offer to waive the styling fee, so I figured it was the perfect time to actually give it a try.
If you haven’t tried Stitch Fix, there’s a style personality quiz you take to let the stylists know what you like to wear (casual, dressy, trendy, etc.), sizes, and to request any specific items you want included in your fix. I was pretty much open to anything, so I basically gave them free reign.
Once I submitted my quiz and put in my credit card info (in case you keep any or all of the items), I was told that my fix would ship by Friday, January 25 and that I would receive a notification when it had shipped. I still hadn’t received any notification by Monday, January 28, so I sent an email asking for an update. I was leaving the following weekend and was worried the box would show up while I was gone and my dog would end up wearing the clothes. They responded really fast and my box ended up being shipped the next day.
I was a bit surprised when I opened the box. The colors were really calm, kind of drab, and not quite what I was expecting. And heads up: these pics aren’t great quality because it was evening (bad lighting) and I was in a hurry (aka, lazy).
I pulled out these Vancouver Twill Joggers by Boom Boom Jeans first. I’ll be honest, I laughed really hard when I held them up because of the elastic hems. But I was surprisingly happy with the fit!
The second item was a black and white polka dot Carol Tulip Sleeve Blouse by Pixley. It was kind of cute, but I wasn’t willing to spend $38 on a top that I probably wouldn’t have been drawn to in a store.
The third item was a Martina Slub Knit Open Cardigan by Mix by 41 Hawthorn that was really comfortable. I would’ve gotten a lot of use out of this piece, but I have a knit black blazer that was just too similar to justify buying this item. It did have pockets, which made it difficult to pass up.
The next item, a Patty Roll Tab Knit Top by Beacon, really confused me. I’m not sure why this was picked out for me, but I hated it. The material felt cheap and the colors and pattern were just awful to me and my husband was even confused by this one.
The last item, a Reid 3/4 Sleeve Knit Top by Jolie, also didn’t do anything for me. The color, fit, and material were all just ‘meh’ (which you can probably tell from the super cute face I’m making in the picture ππ»ββοΈ).
Even though I wasn’t very impressed with my first attempt at a Stitch Fix, I did end up keeping the pants. They were comfy, not something similar to anything I own, they fit, and I thought they’d be handy for our upcoming trip to England. Overall though, the items, especially the colors, didn’t feel very reflective of my style. Maybe I’ll try it again one day, but I’m probably good with picking out my own items for a while.
Have you tried Stitch Fix? What were your experiences like? Good, bad, indifferent, and do you think I should give it another try? Let me know in the comments! ππΌ
I tried Stitch Fix a few years back and found it hit or miss. My taste is pretty eclectic so it can be hard to explain that to my stylist. I would consider trying it again though.

Agreed – I might try it again, but next time I’ll probably be very specific regarding colors and styles!

Cool that you got to try it! I’m honestly not a fan of most of the clothes they offer- they are too plain for my style..but I do love that polka dot top and you look fabulous in it! Your review was great…!

Agreed – they always have really cute outfits in the emails they send, but I was shocked at how dull the items and colors were in my box, especially since I love bright colors! Thanks for stopping by, Valerie!

Iβve not heard of stitch fix but thatβs probably because I live in the UK and it might not be available here, I love the bottoms (I have a similar pair but denim) but from your review I doubt if I would even attempt stitch fix, thank you for the honest review though

Thanks for stopping by, Dee! Yeah, I was happy with the pants, but definitely disappointed in the overall experience, which was a bummer π¦
