A Little Edgy

One of the things I love about clothes and makeup is that you can change up your persona daily! You can frequently find me in ruffles and heels (or yoga pants), but sometimes I like to change it up!

This outfit came together with items I already had in my closet. It’s easy to get caught up with wanting to buy all the newest trends and outfits with all the social media posts blasting the newest and cutest (I’m totally guilty of falling victim to that). But all it takes is some staples you know you’ll wear frequently. For example, this black T-shirt dress from Old Navy.

I wear it on its own all the time. I can dress it up with some wedges and a cardigan, make it cutesy and feminine with a fun scarf and flats, or make it completely casual with some Converse!

But this time I was feeling edgy (blame it on a week of student conferences) and paired the dress with a camo shirt and my new favorite booties from Target. Seriously, these are so cute (great Madewell imitations), and they’re comfortable, too! They’re faux leather, but with a 20% sale, I ended up getting these for about $27.

To add a little more edge (and a pop of color, which I’m always a fan of), I stepped out of my regular makeup routine and added some punchy orange eyeshadow for a dramatic effect. I used a Profusion Eyes palette (colors: terra cotta, tricky, and hi-beam). This is a great makeup brand sold at Target for a really great price. I’m obsessed with their highlighters.

I think my eye palette is from an older season, but I’m currently digging this Profusion Cosmetics Pro Eyes Professional Kit (only $13!) which has some really pretty colors.

Although my outfit consists of older pieces that I keep reusing in different ways, I’ve linked a few similar items!

Budget | Camo Print Shirt          Splurge | Boyfriend Camo Shirt

Budget | Slub-Knit Tee Dress     Budget  | Jersey Dress

Budget | Cut Out Booties            Splurge | Lowcut Bootie

What items do you find yourself reusing or do you have favorite staples that you enjoy mixing and matching with different items?
