You can’t go to the Krispy Kreme Challenge and not have a fun costume! C has become our official costume creator – every year she comes up with something new for us to wear in the Krispy Kreme Challenge. It’s always fun to spend our first night of the weekend putting the final touches of our costumes together 🍩
Our first year featured doughnut inner tubes!
C bought the tubes, spray painted them, picked up all the fabric, and cut out the frosting shapes. Our job was to cut out the sprinkles and glue them on.
And, personally, I think they looked adorable! We got a lot of compliments on these costumes (and even had someone dressed as a carton of milk take a photo with us), but they were kind of hard to run in (but also hilarious to run in!). It was SO cold, though, that at least they kept our bellies and butts warm!
And I don’t know about you, but we like to have some tasty beverages when we’re spending the night catching up with each other and crafting! C’s husband is often our official bartender and made us cupcake shots on year! Yum!
Our second year consisted of doughnut tutus and headbands! This was also the first year that some of the guys joined us. They weren’t down for wearing tutus…#lame.
And here’s a close-up of all our cute, “different-flavored” headbands!
Pre-race crafting, also known as cutting out sprinkles and gluing them onto tutus!
2018 was the year of the sweatshirts…which meant the guys finally joined in on our costumes!
This might be the first time that I’ve ever seen J participate in crafting 😂 I love how focused he got with the hot glue gun! We (the women) recycled our headbands from the previous year because they matched perfectly with our sweatshirts!
And this year they had fun doughnut props for photos!
As you can see from what we’re wearing in every pic, it always ends up being super cold on the weekend of the Krispy Kreme Challenge, but that doesn’t stop us from having fun! And it doesn’t stop some people from running the race mostly naked (see my previous post…or don’t, if you prefer not seeing half naked dudes who probably lost bets).
Have I talked you into running the race yet? We’re already signed up for 2019! If you’re interested, here’s a referral link to the registration page: https://www.raceentry.com/race-reviews/krispy-kreme-challenge?rrid=3748026
I hope to see you there!!
