Doughnuts, Donuts, Everywhere

In honor of the Krispy Kreme Challenge that’s taking place as we speak (don’t know what that is? Check out my posts here and here!), today is dedicated to the food that has my heart…doughnuts!

The love is real, y’all. I have doughnut lights in my office, a doughnut coin bank in my bedroom, doughnut shirts and mugs and bottles galore, and a colleague at work who prints off every news story he can find on doughnuts and gives them to me.

So because of this love/obsession/problem, today’s post is a roundup of some of my favorite doughnut-themed items, including a section on some of the delicious doughnuts I’ve sampled through the years 🙂 Because life would be so boring without doughnuts!

I love this daily doughnut tank top so much, but it’s very old. I found a very similar one as a muscle tank which you can find here (you’ll have to click through the options to find it). I’ve also searched the Internet and linked some of my favorite tanks and tees that feature doughnuts below!

I purchased the doughnut onesie from Belk two years ago and gave all the girls one as their Christmas presents. Everybody needs a doughnut onesie, so I’ve linked a few lounge items that are doughnut-themed below! My husband still seems surprised when he comes home and I’m lounging in this…

There are also so many cute water bottles and mugs that feature doughnuts! Our cupboards are so full of mugs, but I would totally buy every single one if I could!

And finally…some of my favorite places for doughnuts!

Krispy Kreme

I mean, duh. It’s REALLY hard to beat a delicious Hot Now doughnut. And right now they have their cute Valentine’s Day doughnuts that feature adorable sayings and are all filled with different flavors! Get them until February 14th!

Duck Donuts

Duck Donuts, which originated in Duck, North Carolina, has been popping up all over the place! We have one close by in Southern Pines, and thankfully I usually forget that it’s there. What’s so great about their donuts is that you can create your own or use their helpful little “menu” sheets that have amazing combinations already designed for you! And…they’re made right when you order so every batch is fresh and hot and melty and so dangerous!

BKeDSHoP

BKeDSHoP is a relatively recent find in Charleston, but I can’t recommend it enough! They even offer vegan donuts and everything is made from scratch, super unique, and delicious! I also think their coffee drinks are amazing. Hear more about it on this post!

Voodoo Donuts

Voodoo is probably a name you’ve heard before! It was on our MUST list when we visited Portland many years ago and currently have several locations, and even one in Orlando now! I’m not sure if this is a place I’d take a child because some of their doughnuts can be a little on the risque side. Scroll through their menu and you’ll see what I mean 😉

Disney World and Universal Studios

Yep, we can’t even take a vacation from doughnuts! The delicious sundae at the bottom came from Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. And that’s definitely a Krispy Kreme original under there!

And this beautiful lady can be found at Universal Studios at Lard Lad Donuts in the Simpsons area! It’s definitely something we get every time we visit that park.

Firecakes Donuts

This one is a little far from me, but if you’re in the Chicago area, you should definitely check out Firecakes! Check out my Chicago post here for a lot more info on the donuts and what kind we ate when we visited!

Glazed Gourmet Doughnuts

Glazed was an early love in Charleston for me. We (the family) would frequently go downtown for a 3 mile run and then hit up Glazed and Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit. It’s all about balance, right?

The link above will take you directly to their website menu (and will make you drool because they feature pics of each doughnut), but you have to check their IG or Facebook for the weekly menu because they’re constantly changing up their delicious flavors!

And if you’re in the mood to run for your doughnuts, the Mr. Bob’s Donuts 5k in Marion, North Carolina is another doughnut-themed race that we’ve turned into a girls weekend tradition. Hear all about it here!

So there you have it, folks! Deck yourself out in some doughnut apparel, throw some coffee in a cute doughnut mug, and go getcha some doughnuts! We’re probably heading out to find some coffee to warm us up and chase down the doughnuts we ate at today’s Krispy Kreme Challenge.

We hope to see you out there next year!

P.S. – my friends and I never know what the “correct” way to spell doughnuts is…are you a doughnut or a donut eater?
